One of the Garden States promising stars, Tax G sits with Grindahz and talks about the night he nearly lost his life, the grind and his love for music. Grindahz: Tax, let me start by saying we’re so lucky to still have you with us! When I first dropped the story about your accident, I got hit up by so many of your fans wanting to know… What happened?!
Tax G: Fell asleep on (route) 21 and hit a pole. woke up in UMDNJ buggin’ out! I escaped (the hospital) and went home.
Geesh! Its obvious your meant to be here. Did you break anything? I know u had, what? Something like 72 stiches?
Yup. Call me Scarface at this point. But hey I’m just happy to be here, feel me? Black eye, lumped up, lungs collapsed, in and out of conscience, all that. but still in it for the love of music.
Yea, your love for the grind is insane tho. Two days after almost losing your life, you were on stage performing with your face completely wrapped up. Why didn’t you just cancel the show?
Because I got paid! (laughs) And I wanted everybody to see that its no game with this music shit at all. My fans need to hear from me no matter what, unless I’m dead.
Deep! Has your out look on life changed since the near fatal accident?
Life is serious I take every dollar and situation serious and I’m more alert. I know my worth and I cherish my fans way more. I refuse to be a waste of space while I’m on this earth.
You’ve been consistent with releasing music, videos, interviews etc. You just released a freestyle with Photo973 and by the looks of it, isn’t that the truck from the accident?! Your not even completely healed. What made you show the scar?
Cause I don’t give a fuck for real. I’m the hottest nigga doin’ it out here period. Scar or no scar. No matter what I’m me. You can’t buy swag. This video was some old shit we had in the cut, a old freestyle. I don’t like the slackin’ some of these niggas is doin with this music shit. I’m back. This scar is jus a war stripe.

What advice can you give your fans that know they’re tired as hell but still feel like they can drive it off?
Don’t do it, it aint worth it. I just lost a “G” behind the wheel, G.I.P Ib.
