So nearly 2 years after Philly rapper/former Roc-a-fella Records artist Beanie Sigel dissed his former boss Jay-Z, he’s now taking back his words and apologizing for what was said. It was October 23, 2009 when D-Block’s Jadakiss brought Beanie Sigel on stage at the Philly Powerhouse Concert headlined by Jay-Z.

Beanie reportedly spit his own version of Jay-Z’s “Blueprint 3″ intro, changing the lyrics that caused the controversy. Shortly there after the diss record “Average Cat” hit the Internet. Sigel went in on his former boss saying he did little to push him and basically called him a snitch as well. As the world eagerly waited for a response from Jay-Z, he did not return bars with his former protege. Jay did release this statement saying “Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label and a clothing line and never went platinum. I don’t know in the history of rap has anyone done so much with so little. If that’s not pushing a person shit”. Nearly two years later, Beanie Sigel sat down with XXL recently and says “What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas fuck up too. Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me – he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything. I need that in black and white. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that.” You damn right you should have never did it! That was one of the lamest publicity stunts I ever seen! In my opinion Beanie Sigel was well respected enough by his fans to come out, make good music and make some money. Did he not learn from the Dame Dash VS. Jay-Z fiasco?

We all know Dame was the better business man and Jay-Z probably wouldn’t be as big of a star as he is today with out Dame being the asshole he was behind the scenes when it came to business. But Jay-Z is loved by the Universe. There’s some Aliens on another planet bumping In My Lifetime Vol 1 right now. So going against Jigga is a lose lose situation.

“Do not bark up that tree, that tree will fall on you
I don’t know why your advisors ain’t forewarn you
Please, not Jay, he’s, not for play
I don’t slack a minute, all that thug rappin and gimmicks
I will end it, all that yappin be finished”.

Rocafella Records Artists

Happier Days

What the hell made Beanie Sigel think anything was different for him? Anyways, the good thing is that it didn’t end in blood shed and “Beans” manned up and apologize. Do you think this apology was sincere or is this yet another case of “you just wanna be seen”?
